Founded in 1915, The Color Association of The United States creates and delivers global color intelligence across industries.  A membership based organization headquartered in New York City, the Color Association serves as premier forecast agent, specialized educator, and trusted advisor to color professionals whose responsibility is to ensure marketplace success for their color decisions in the realm of brands, product and service, and spatial environments.

Our mission is to capture and deliver color value to businesses and educators and empower color conscious decisions.

With a long history of success The Color Association remains a leading establishment in the field of color. In the early half of the 20th century, The Association’s primary purpose was to support textile manufacturers in creating market-ready products for the ready-to-wear industry.  Back then the Association’s committees included hat, glove, and hosiery manufacturers- the trendsetters of the day.  Today, we continue to rely on carefully selected thought leaders in the areas of fashion, accessories, product, and interior design to work with us on our current lineup of Women’s, Men’s, Youth, and Interiors/Environmental forecasts.  This combination of cutting-edge trend insight and realistic market knowledge is invaluable in keeping our forecasts relevant for designers, marketers, and product developers.

Our membership base that originally was anchored in the textile and fashion industries has grown to encompass design fields across most industry sectors. Our members come from some 73 industries including branding and advertising, automotive, beauty, health, cosmetics, apparel, communications, and electronics, to name a few.  This vibrant and ever-growing professional set, ranges from architects, to fashion, graphic, product, industrial and interior designers facing the increasing complexity of making color decisions. And while we do not forecast specifically in all industry segments in which our members operate, companies and designers have come to appreciate the insight we provide into fashion and environment macro color trends that generally trickle down and influence their segments.  We are proud to be in the forefront of color, are relentlessly committed to enhance the color – business interface, and are deeply grateful for the privilege to serve the color design and education community for almost a century.

To further support our members and the color, design and marketing communities at large,  The Color Association of the United States has embarked on developing and delivering state of the art color education with an exclusive faculty and a variety of delivery methods from e-Learning solutions to e-Classes, webinars and customized workshops. To date we’ve been fortunate to disseminate our color knowledge to thousands of colorists, designers, product developers, and marketing and branding experts and we continue to grow our course portfolio, faculty and student base.

Industry leaders who are looking to reaffirm their color leadership in their respective fields often tap into our consulting and research capabilities. Similarly, the media is regularly seeking the Color Association’s expert voice on all matters pertaining to color.

We at The Color Association realize that there are various subscription trend services that can contribute to an organization’s color intelligence.  CAUS , however, takes a different approach, offering members not only the physical Forecast cards(s) of their choosing, but accompanying supportive information that substantiates and details the rationale, trends, and influences behind each color selection.  With CAUS, we offer not just the “what”, but the “why” and at a minimal cost when compared to other color resources.
